rear dimister

my rear dimister dont work, but the cluster light shows its working.. the two wires are conected on the rear window dismister an there is power going throu one of the wires (conected to the rear window dimister) but not the other side wire.. so i was thinking.. one wire must be (positve) an the other side wire (negitive) Right?
so if the (positive) wire lights my tester up, that must mean there is a broken earth wire at the back somewere that not earthing the rear window dimister.. so can i just run my own earth wire?

I have a similar problem. Mine works the smallest bit. But still does jack shit! Is this a normal VN problem? Im assuming so... But yeah how do we fix this?

You could try adding an earth wire. Are either of the wires black?

i had a simmilar problem,all looked hooked up but where the earth wire hooks on to the metal bit on the window was broken and not enough hung out to actually plug into it.
maybe at some point the window has been removed and the same thing has happened?

interesting! i think the wire thats got the power is a b/w or a b/y wire an the other one is ony a black wire... (but i must recheck that) on wednesday...
all my metal bits are good with the wires still conected to the rear window dismister
