Default vp spark plugs.. what torque??

    heys,

changed spark plugs in vp.. went b gregory's manual an set to 20nz.. seem to be running crap now.. double checked their the right plugs and all good.

does any one know a better torque to set too?? and also is there any tricks to the torque wrench.. i assumed just finger tight then apply torque.. am i wrong though??

    cheers

If that's the specified torque it should be OK, as a general rule they can be tightned to they just contact the taper and then nipped up about 1/16 of a turn.
If they are not loose it's probably not a torque issue you may have cracked one of them or damaged a lead pulling them off as they do get hard to remove.
If I was you I would take them out and check for any cracks or problems with the gap and also resistance check the spark plug leads.

cheers, replacing leads tomorrow and will prob bite the bullet and get another set of plugs just to be sure. seems to run okay without stereo using power so ive narrowed it down to plugs an leads since car ran fine before changed the plugs in first place. and the coil pack was replaced last week as well just in general maitnance.

What brand of plugs are you using? Other members (which I can also vouch to) have reported that Bosch spark plugs have a tendency to run rough.

i used ngk's.. but i noticed this morning once the cars warmed up the leads are slipping away from the spark plugs so ill see how i go with new leads this afternoon outa curiosity would loose/warn leads set off a engine light ?? the car runs smooth as cold and once it warms up it starts missing especially from a dead stop when i accelerate. fuel pressure was fine when put on a gauge.
