    Default Rotors & fuel

    HI!
my mechs puting the slotted rotors on my vn tomorrow.. will the slotted rotors be the same as the standed ones but slotted? iv only got size 14 wheels on it now, but later down the track i will be putting size 17 wheels on it, an upgrading the brakes aswell.. so will i need a biger rotor for the size 17 tyres an to do the brake upgrade? what brake upgrads can i get for my (1991 vn exc)? an what fuel would be better to run in my vn? - 91, 95 or 98

Basically, slotted rotors are the same as standard but with slots cut in them. You don't necessarily need larger rotors for larger rims, but people do upgrade because it looks better than a tiny rotor with a big wheel.

EBC do a big brake upgrade kit in 298mm or 322mm size rotors. They come with VE calipers, slotted and dimpled rotors, braided lines, pads, brake fluid and hub adaptors. I supply these for $795 for the VB-VP.

Unless you have a tune, the best fuel to run is just 91, people have different opinions on the different fuels, but really, why pay more for something the engine isn't tuned for? No real benefit IMO.

it got so exited when i sore the word "Rotors" in the thread title but it wansnt a 13b or even a 12b it was just your brakes .

for 17's i dont think you will need bigger rotars aslong as they are the same size as the factory ones, but they will look cool if you do get them

cool! i dont mind the same size rottors as the standeds.. i think they will still look cool in opened wheels.. just aslong as i can get the brake upgrads for them latter in the same size as the standed brakes, an yes its being tuned today....

get genuine hard brake pads if you want less chance of fade, they will wear ya rotors out before the pads, but hard to get to fade compared to normal pads.
