    Exclamation Engine Cut Out

    hey guys,

while i was driving my engine cut off and the check engine light came on and would not start up again. i had nrma come out and have a look. he didnt have a computer scanner with him but he said its either the crank angle sensor or coil pack( engine was cranking over but no spark from ignition leads).

what do you guys rekon the likely cause is???

could be anything. do some testing. ECU, DFI module, crank sensor, blown fuse. do some testing, only sure fire way. we/you could spend days speculating and minutes fault finding.

Check your computer first, it might be able to tell you whats wrong.

Checking your Computer for Faults (VN - VP)

With the CAS, try pushing up agaist it while trying to start it. We got a car running with a dodgy CAS by wedging somthing up agaist it, i forget what we used? But it will help you diagnoise it.

Just borrow coils off another car to test them.

Were you able to get it started again when the engine was cold? If so, the next time the car stalls try pouring some cold water over your harmonic balancer (crankshaft pulley) and then try and start it again. If it starts up after the cold water is poured on it then theres 99% chance its your crank angle sensor thats f*cked
