    Default How to fix ??

I was underneath the Commodore, looking for a possible source of a vibration.
I was checking the tailshaft and found that where it enters the auto there seems to be an excessive amount of movement along with some oil seepage.
I have done a search and cant find anything.
The Uni's seem fine as well as the centre bearing.

vibration when?? accelerating?? normal, play around the the centre bearing spacers, add a few, remove a few, that will either make vibration worse or better.
that oil leak first pic, half the time its from the hole there you see i reckon, we used to put a bolt and nut into it with silicone to stop it, case is porous or something.

Its a vibration thats starts around 60km upwards under normal driving and you can feel it through the whole car
The car has under 40k on the clock so I guess it shouldn't be something that wears out from age rather than KM'd driven
The vibration has been there since I got it with 27k on the clock.
Its had new wheels and tyres and a full Pedders suspension package so I guess they are eliminated

So does this mean that the excessive movement of the tailshaft where it enters the back of the Transmision as previously mentioned by me, is not likely to cause this vibration

Yeah thats a fair call. Having replaced many a uni on my old 4WD, I guess to put it this way, if it was a uni joint with the same sort of movement it would be shagged.

question?? did u buy the car with th pedders suspension in it? or did u put it in after u bought it? cause one of my mechanic teachers when i did my pre apprenticeship course many moons ago put new springs in and had the same problem cause it raised the back or lowered it and put the tail shaft out of balance. he had to put spacers where the bolt holes are for the center bearing to get rid of the vibration.

Thanks for the reply, The car was stock as a rock when I bought it, the vibration was always there.
I had the pedders put in along with the wheels and tyres.

Anyways I dropped it off to my mechanic, APS to let them sort it out.
