    Default Cold Air intake

So the VP I brought someone put a un-shielded pod on it and before everyone mentions how its talked about in other threads - I know its not as good as a cold air box just sucking in hot air at the moment

I've found a stock cold air box of $60(NZ) with breather pipe in mint condition.

Is it worth going back to the stock cold air box or better to look into a heat shield/cold air box for the pod? (though it looks like the stock box will be too small for the pod)

How much does your average heat shield or cold air boxes cost and are they tricky to install?

ive run a pod filter with a heatshield, and i have also run just the stock airbox with an over-the-radiator intake piece. personally i didnt notice any difference at all with either one (fuel economy or performance) so now i run my car with just a stock airbox, a k&n air panel filter and the over-the-radiator intake as it is alot cheaper to set up than a full pod setup with heatshield, and i sold my old pod and heatshield on ebay to make some money back. different people will give you different opinions though, some people swear by pods, others by OTR intakes. good luck whichever way you choose
