Vin Numbers

Hey guys just thought id check out the vin om my missus' vp tonight and found when i checked it that it looks like a cross between a vp and a vr number..
the ones listed are: 6H8VPL19HML - V6 SEDAN BERLINA
: 6H8VRL19HPL - V6 SEDAN BERLINA


The one that we have is :6H8VPL19HPL- And its a vp berlina sedan

Just curious as to know why the difference..

In a book Ive got it says the 10th digit in the VIN is for the year model. J=1988, K=1989, L=1990, M=1991, N=1992, P=1993, R=1994, S=1995, T=1996
