Vp ss????

Hey guys, is there ANY sure fire way of telling if my VP is a genuine SS??? here is the Vin.

I appreciate any input... the sticker on the back is in the wrong place and the tail lights dont have any pin striping on them, but the car has been in a rear end accident in the past and the tail lights on it now are from a VN and are a diff color to the garnish and super faded...so it has led me to believe that whoever fixed the car after did a dodgy job....Heres a rough picture of it so u guys get a lil look. like i said i will post ANY pic u would like to see.... thanks heaps

I'd be surprised to find anybody who would build a SS faker. Your car is missing the front fog lights which means it possibly had a thump at the front where the lights were broken and never replaced. They are n/a from Holden and rare as on the second hand market, thus cost a fortune.

I believe there no way of telling by just the VIN try looking at squarearches.net or here How many VP were built?

To be 100% certain it's an SS on the ID plate, looking at MODEL. Will read something like: VP8VK19- following by a 3 digit number/letter:

A9F= SS auto
A9G= SS manual

Anything else, it's not an SS

Does the car have IRS? While not definitive, I can't imagine that too many executives were optioned with IRS.

yes the car does have IRS, also has electric windows and cruise control.

it doesnt realy bother me if it is a genuine SS or not, but if it isnt ill be inclined to take all the SS decals and rear wing off (imo it looks horrid)..
I dunno if this means anything but there is a switch in the cabin for fog lights... i also looked under carpets, and there is no build sheets

ok i checked it this morning and it was VP8VK19-124, so i looked it up and it pretty much just says its a 5.0L, automatic, and then it was just 8VK, and i couldnt find that.

Its hard for me to understand WHY someone would make a replica VP ss, and all the touble they went thru.... woulda been easier just to buy one HAHAHAHA

its a fake mate, but to be honest it doesnt bother me much... i mean its a 5L its got A/C its got electric windows cruise control and its got IRS and LSD....... last time i checked thats more than an SS.. is it not?
