    Default exhaust extractors...price

Hi all, just wanted to know what I should expect to pay both for parts and for labour to get a set of exhaust extractors put in my V6 VP. just a ball park figure. I am concerned that someone is gonna rip me off a beauty if I am not armed with some knowledge of costing.
    thanks.

PS, i know there are different types, please let me know if you refer to the expensive or cheap end of the scale. Thanks again.

Buy second hand parts. New is crazy overpriced for the gains.

2nd hand I paid $150 for pacemaker extractors suit VN-R V6 auto, installed myself.

Cat back systems go for anywhere from $50 to $200 on the 2nd hand market for a basic 2.5"

I'm talking about a spark advance and fuel map tune, not a 'tune-up' at a mechanic nicefrog=greenfoam, ebay is the only way you'll get him now, and he can tune for dual fuel.

    I'm in WA today.

I agree with the second hand suggestion, definitely the way to go, but if you buy new extractors they seem to go for about $100 for each cylinder you have. Also depends on brand aswell.

If you want to source some second hand ones and then pay an exhaust place or mechanic to fit them ring around and ask what they would charge to fit them. Most parts places that supply parts will have an esitmated fitting time for each part and then mechanics can quote based on their hourly rate, wont be 100% exact im sure but it will give you something to go off. That's why you don't buy new parts for an old shit v6

Look on the second hand market (this does not mean wreckers, they charge a lot more than your average guy-wrecking-a-VN.)

I looked on ebay and i can't find anything under 500 either for pacemakers. there are tiger headers for the price your talking (read about them on this site and other forums too and they are apparently no good) . I don't know many people that are wrecking there cars lol. isn't that what wreckers are for? Might go see a few places bout the labour costs and they might know people or know of people that are selling them 2nd hand for cheap.

No such thing as 'no good' for headers for these V6 lol they make almost no difference anyway

Do you people really not have a local paper etc where people can advertise?

Does gumtree.com have an active vic branch? Lots of car parts in WA on there...
