ok, have just recieved permission from the wife to blow some money on the ute, so time to start planning.
all though i plan on changing quite a fair bit of it over the next year, inc a full interior, I was hoping for some info on doing the conversion to a 5 litre.
besides the engine itself, and attachments do i need to change much else?
its a 5 speed, so that will cope right?
the tacho is already for the v8 so thats done (annoying now tho)
do the brakes need upgrading? or the front suspension?
I have a terrible understanding of electronics, (i mean so bad i cant work out why the interior light or horn dont work) so i plan on having a mate do the wiring, but is it a simple matter of just using the 5L ECU? or does some of the existing wiring need changing over?
and any other details you think might come in handy, this will be my first conversion, post blue motors.
with the wiring for the 5L just find one that has the engine loom with it and take the v6 out with the loom and ecu, then lay the v8 loom and ecu in the bay and i would suggest u upgrade the suspension for the v8 and some decent brakes.
