hey i was wondering if anyone has changed their series 1 coil pack and dfi.....with the later model mounting bracket.... i have just tried to do this but the series 1 mounting bracket also holds the alternator..... any ideas???
Yes it can be done, not hard but a bit of effort is required. I did it to the V6 I put in my VC. I took the later model mounting bracket and cut it down with a hacksaw until it was a flat plate, trued it up with a file and then screwed it to the original VN mounting plate. At least it is aluminium and quite easy to cut.
Can't you pull the bracket off when you take the coil pack out of the VT? I assumed it would bolt straight up, could be wrong.

im not sure, the alternator uses the same bracket that the coil pack and dfi use on the vn engine and on the Ecotec the alternator is located on the other side..... hmmmm do i cut down the original bracket
No, you cut down the VT bracket so it can bolt onto the original VN bracket, should take no more than an hour to do and then everything remains in the same place as original.
man just unbolt it and bolt it on the vn bracket fits perfect no cutting involved
I tune the oldschool way fear on the passengers face and knuckle colour cant go wrong

Should do, have a VY sv6 coil on my vn, just modified the mount a bit, used some spacers and a longer bolt.. no issues at all
