Hello all. The past few days the battery light in my VP Berlina has been coming on and off randomly. Today for instance I drove all the way to work (about 25km) without a problem, but then on the way home after about 2km it came on so I got off the highway and inspected the alternator and unable to find any obvious fault I let the car just sit for about 10 mins and then started it up and drove home without any further incident. Also yesterday driving back from the shops it came on for about 30 seconds and then went off again for the rest of the journey.
Does anyone have any idea what might be causing it? and if so what needs to be done or replaced.
When looking over the alternator I found the following on the red terminal on the alternator, here's a picture.
Thanks in advance.
the terminal above still looks ok, but it might be worth taping it up.
an intermittent battery light usually means a stuffed regulator on the alternator.
it's the little black box on the back of the alternator
about a 10 minute job to replace
I rang up Repco and confirmed it was an RE60 Voltage regulator but they wanted $64, so I looked on ebay and found the equivalent for $33. Here's a link for those of you experiencing the same problem

Thanks for helping out guys its much appreciated.
