painfull vp central locking

just got a vp calais

central locking works when it wants
when it does it unlocks the rear doors only
other times the lights will just flash and not open doors

what exactly is stuffing up? what do i need to change?

also can you get another remote as its lookin a bit shittym its a 2 button one

anyone used this before?

Most likely its the central locking control module, the solders in their tend to expand and contract and over the years they tend to play up, so its likely the signal isnt getting through to the doors. My electric windows had a similar problem they would only work when it was cold because the solders had contracted far enough for it to work, once I replaced the control module it was all sweet. I would doubt its the remote because if the lights are flashing it means the signal is getting to the car, its just not getting passed on to the door locks.

You should be able to pick a central locking control module for about $5-30 at the wreckers.
