Hi,
I've found some memcal's and I was just wondering if they're worth the money and whats the difference between stages?
And if they are worth it is something like these (see links at the bottom) any good?
they seem cheap comapred to others I've seen online and I can't seem to find any info about them other than they raise the rev limit (which I'm very keen to do).
I have a stock 3.6l V6 VP manual (it has a pody on it but without heat shield or cold air box from the previous owner and will swap back to standard or get a cold air box if I can find a cheap one)
If someone could give me some good info or point in the right direction on where to find this info It'd be much appreciated. I've never done anything to ECU's so am a bit hesitant to change anything with knowing what I'm doing.

You could give delcowizid an email. Costs a little more, but every bugger on this forum will tell you hes the man to talk to for memcals.
Also, Ask him for the one with the lion on it. The asian hippo is a good tune too, but you need the mods to support it.
haha i have all sorts of stickers have to be carefull with some of them.
I tune the oldschool way fear on the passengers face and knuckle colour cant go wrong
tabbacco is still my favorite vegetable
How much for one of ya memcals? cause id like one. LOL i dont plan on doing any mods to my vp other then an cold air intake.. its just my daily driver.
Hey I'm after a tune for my vn v6 it's got a pod and sports exhaust
And wats it worth??
not much point raising your rev limit if you are running a stock camshaft/stock engine. The engine makes peak power below the factory rev limit, after that the power curve drops off rather dramatically. So if you want the best performance out of your engine, you should shift gears before the factory rev limit anyway
'stages' really mean nothing, there are no set standards to define what stage 1,2,3 is, it purely comes down to the seller & how they rate the levels of their own tunes. You'd have to ask the seller what 'stage' best suits your engine setup.
10-16kw gain on a simple memcal change on a V6. not likely especially not those chips on trademe me thinks.
some of those are eproms only so will need soldering into the memcal which is a shit job unless you have a very thin tipped soldering iron and know how to use it
