Abs Off Light On After New Brakes Fitted

Can anyone out there help me. I had to do a trip from Geraldton to Perth recently as I had news that my Mother was seriously ill. On travelling down there I realised that I needed a wheel balnce. My father took it into a "repairer" to have the wheels balance and they in turn told him that I needed to have my brakes done.....because the car was sitting idle I said to go ahead....(I wish I had never said that!) They fitted new (front) rotors to my 1993 VP Commodore (Toyota Lexcen) . Now my ABS Off light comes on after 1 - 2klms and it doesn't appear to be doing its ABS check as I back out of the garage (I used to be able to hear it). Because I live 400 klms away from the original fitter - they have referred me to another "Brake Specialist"......but we are having no luck. They reckon they have checked that they have put the correct rotors on and they are correct? and that someone must have hit the sensor (marked). We eventually found another sensor (in Melbourne) and had it sent over...and it still hasn't fixed the problem. The car has been on a "computer" and is saying there are no problems...In the mean time I am left with a car that has the ABS OFF light come on after a couple of klms......Any ideas would be welcome...I don't dare tell me poor dad that the car is still not right...its been 4 weeks now!

have you checked the ABS relay or electrical system (I don't have a ABS on my car). They might be faulty.
