vn v6 manual making winding noise

my vn v6 berlina is making a winding noise sounds like from the gearbox it happens when you are in 5th and when under pressure.
been told this could be a thrust bearing????
any one ever heard of this b4?

so it is only in 5th gear and only when accelerating??? be a bearing in gear box that runs the 5th gear.

yep agree, my commodore did a thrust bearing and they only make noise when your foot is on the clutch, its not doing anything when you dont have your foot on the clutch.

Got the same thing happaning to me in 5th. I dout its a thrust bearing cause you would get it in all gears and neutral.

thanx for the info guys the box and motor got rebuilt 20,000ks ago but i will look into it
any body know wat a heaterr coil costs for a vn these days?
