if they are superlows on standard struts you wont need a spring decompressor but when you undo the yop nut regardless of what they are just be careful
only problems ive had is with standard springs
    mmm loving my VR

in my experience i wouldnt use spring compressors there effin dangerous, i used exhaust U bolts instead much safer they cant slip off the spring when you've got it compressed..

been using my meco spring compressor for 20 years now and never had a slip or a fail of a spring , sometimes its not the tool but the tool using it ?

Easiest way to do it is to leave the car on the ground, undo the top nut, then slowly jack the front up. The springs will come out easily.

I have done this numorous times and it makes a full front and rear spring change on an IRS Commodore an hour's job.
