iv got a vn im pulling apart for parts and im stuck on the front springs any one have any ideas to get them out i'd leave them in there but there king super lows, any ideas will help,
cheers
will need a spring compressor
rattle gun and stand clear when you release the top nut ??
if they are superlows on standard struts you wont need a spring decompressor but when you undo the yop nut regardless of what they are just be careful
only problems ive had is with standard springs
mmm loving my VR
How do you tell what springs they are? I have a VN I have just got the engine out of and am gunna put the whole front end in my VH. Im thinkin maybe they are super lows..? Springs are red and the car looks like this:

in my experience i wouldnt use spring compressors there effin dangerous, i used exhaust U bolts instead much safer they cant slip off the spring when you've got it compressed..
Easiest way to do it is to leave the car on the ground, undo the top nut, then slowly jack the front up. The springs will come out easily.
I have done this numorous times and it makes a full front and rear spring change on an IRS Commodore an hour's job.
