Wagon Boot Lock Buggered

Hey guys, the boot lock on my VP Wagon completely buggered i've tried the usual suspects to fix it (WD40, graphite pencil on the key) but no luck, I dont live anywhere near a wreckers that will give me another lock for a reasonable price. And failing that going to a pickapart wreckers and actually find a car with the lock and the key needed for the lock would be unlikely (I've tried)

I was wondering do you guys reckon I can buy a new sedan lock about $30 on ebay and just swap out the barrels? It seems like the easiest way to do it if its possible. I paid a locksmith to fix this 2 years ago about a week before I moved interstate suprise suprise the moment came ot unload the car (full to the brim with everything I own) and the ****ing boot lock was buggered and its been that way ever since. If i've needed to get into the boot that bad I always just climbed in and manually opened it.

Any help would be much appreciated
