Humming, buzzing noise coming from near fuel tank

My vp v6 has started to make a strange humming noise that comes from someware around the fuel tank or back of the car. it only occasionly comes up but seems te be getting louder and more frequent as of late, is this possibly the fuel filter on its way out?

Its probably the fuel pump you can hear running.Its inside the fuel tank.It can be heard humming away on most commodores when you are near the rear of the car around the fuel tank area whilst the engine is running.

it is verry loud, overpowers the sound of the car.

It's the fuel pump. Perfectly normal.

its the fuel pump for sure and its normal to be loud on start up but not after it means ur fuel pump is on its way out.

yeah as above ^ dont expect your fuel pump to last too much longer

It's next doors cat, let it out and the sound will go away.

if it doesn't the sound will be the fuel pump as has been mentioned a few times now.
