hi guys i have a vp 5.0litre running on duel fuel and i went to start it this morning and it wont start it started fine last night ive had the ignitition module changed already the only thing i can think of is its out of petrol as im sure i got told that they have to start on petrol any other ideas also occasionally if u give it a little stick when its cold it stalls and wont start for a couple of seconds its really annoying cause im to scared to drive it out of wollongong in case it dies on me![]()
If its the basic mixer system yes it will start on petrol. See your fuel gauge to check if its out of fuel. Mixer systems are quiet annoying like this. They cant be tuned well to either system an maybe som of the reason why it stalls when cold.
TBH i would not have my wagon on a mixer gas system. These are the sorts of typical things that go wrong with them and can make you hate your car. If its only on gas cause thats how it came, you would do yourself a favour by having it removed.
There is a multitude of things that it could be, 1 could be that the gas installer didnt put the fuel pump cut out in and your fuel pump is rooted(not uncommon). Your fuel filter may just be blocked. It could be the imobiliser. It could be that some of the connections under the dash on the gas unit have come loose or tarnished and hi resistance due to dodgy clip joiner things they oftem use on them(agin not uncommon).
thanks man im seriously considering either pissing of the gas altogether or getting it looked at by a gas research dealer i know u can get them to run really good on gas but only on dedicated gas not on duel fuel but unless they can guarentee that it will go as good as it does on petrol i wont even consider it atm when im runing gas and i hit the button to switch to petrol its almost like hitting a bloody nos button it goes sooo well on fuel but on gas its slow and not responsive and it idles like a paint mixer lol
dude how does ur wagon sound with a 3" system mines got a 2 1/2" cat back atm ?
