difference between v6 and v8 vn tacho

gday guys,i have a vn ss and wondering what happens to the tacho if i put a v6 cluster in it,how does the tacho react? Does it work at all or not responsive?. REason i ask is i have tried 4 different v8 clusters and i cannot get the tacho to be responsive like it should be.
Like when the car changes gear the tacho doesnt even dip at all and like it is in delay or something. My vn v6 calais the tacho moves with every lil touch of the peddle.,Or is there anything else electrical that can cause this problem that i can look at!

If you swap to VR gauges (V8) you will most probably fix the problem.

V6 tacho will read high - thats all. Test it to see if it moves freely like when it's in the v6 car.
