    Default Dif leaking?

So APPARENTLY i have an SS LSD hooked up to my vn v6... (according to the previous owner)

I have never really checked, but what i have noticed is my dif is REALLY wet just as everything around it is... Im pretty sure its my dif, and its been like this for some time. Ive decided im going to get under and take shit apart to have a good look this weekend..

If the dif is leaking, how bad can it be? Will a new one be required?

Hey mate, keep in mind if your going to pop the diff case off to have some diff fluid and a new gasket handy,
As for the leaking its probly just the gasket but then again it could be 100 diffrent things as to why it leaks.

Possible leak point are the three seals (two at wheel bearings, one at pinion), the rear cover gasket, the drain bolt washer, the filler bung, and the breather. None of these will require a new diff unless the housing has been physically damaged to cause the issue. Ensure that the breather is clear, and see if you can figure out where the oil is coming from - as above, there's a good chance it could be as simple as replacing the rear cover gasket.
