Gday fellas, just having a pain in the ass problem with my SS, when starting car cold it seems to fire up ok,but if i drive 10mins down the road and turn it off and go into a shop i seem to have trouble starting it when its warm. It cranks but really struggles then will crank that slow it wont start. Then i turn ignition off for a min and then try again it will just crank over enough to start!!! Im thinking 3 things, 1 battery 2 coil and 3 starter... anybody else have this prob? Just seems when motor is hot it really struggles to crank.
Cheers
I have the exact same problem in my calais, it has a new coil and the battery is fine, starter im not sure on. first fire up in the morning turns over easily, starting when warm it struggles
Im having the oppisite problem with my vn commy v6 its duel fuel and once first started each day it has to take a few goes id say two or three n u gota keep revs up then it will idle

Just fitted a new starter motor to my VN V8 as it was getting slower and slower on the hot start.
Boy does it spin over nowI used the same battery, coil and wires and will see how it goes over the comming days. Look to have solved the lazy cranking tho.

My VS does it too, when it's warm takes a while to crank over. Cold starts perfectly though![]()
nathans VY Calais - 'Calais 2.0' | VT Equipe | VS Calais **SOLD!**
any good brands of starters i should look for?
The unit fitted to my V8 was just said to be a "new lite weight" unit. Works great as you would expect being new. Sounds very different tho. no more heavy grinding when you hit the start button
I'll see if I can find out the brand name today.....
