    Default torque converter lockup issue

ive had this problem for a few months now, when driving on the highway the car only sometimes goes into torque converter lockup. its annoying cos i do a fair bit of 100km/h cruising driving but most of the time it will be revving at around 2100 revs when it should be 1800 revs but the torque converter lockup just doesnt like initiating. i find that if i put my foot down a little bit (but not enough to send it back to 3rd) then it will go into torque converter lockup but as soon as i let the throttle off again to go back to cruising speed the torque converter lockup will disengage again and rev around 2100 revs again. anyone have any ideas what it could be?
