i have a vp berlina 5 speed 5 liter and was thinking of putting a raptor kit on the car has done 250000kms i dosent miss a beat but was wondering if i should rebuild it first and if the standard clutch would handel the power increase? and if there are any off the shelf inter cooler kits?
10 liters of aussie v8 cant go wrong
do a compression test and make sure the compression is still good, if you have enough faith in the motor with that many k`s then go for it, but id do a piston and head rebuild for a good reason, better compression and performance with the charger and much more trust in the motor.
As for the clutch it should be fine, they are a good design and handle a beating
Real cars don't power the front wheels, they lift them
cheers for the info mate

If the motor is pretty healthy I'd go ahead, even if the motor dies later or the wear is accelerated you'll then know which bits you need to upgrade rather than finding it's not strong enough and having to do a 2nd rebuild. I'm not sure you'd want to increase compression as well as forced induction, 8.5 to 1 is pretty friendly to charging.
