Can I fit a VR [IRS] Fuel Tank into a VP [Non-IRS], is this do-able?

Hi there,
I have a VP Executive V6 and under the car the Fuel Tank is munted, previous owner must have backed over a tree stump or something as its all pushed it... runs fine though the car that is..
I have a VR Calais V6 that has IRS and the tank is mint on it, are these tanks the same? Can i simply remove it from my VR, and mount into my VP?
If anyone can help with this, it will be much appreciated.

my solid axle vr has the larger tank out of a irs car.....had to mod one strap for it to fit but the rest was exactly the same

Markovr is on the money. irs cars have one strap that sits into a hole in the floorpan rather than bolting the car like in a solid diff car.

all you need to do is cut both up and stick a bolt through so its longer and reaches/holds the tank up. easily done.
