ok someone will probs flame me for this but in my VP as its auto on the gear select is has a white D for drive and blue D i assume blue D is holdens "Power Button" kinda thingy if someone can tell me full details what it actually does would b very happy thanx.
its overdrive
and how should one use it like when and what for. sorry for the stupid questions
its jsut a 4th gear or a overdrive if yo0ur reallkeen and trick you can wire up a power econ button
Overdrive is just another gear, on my GF's pulsar I drive around town and in hilly areas with it off as it keeps it in 3rd at the highest and also changes the shift points to make it use more of the power band, kinda like the POWER switch on later commodores.
I only turn overdrive on if I am cruising on the highway.
Ok yeah I thought it did same thing as power button my gf uses it on overtake lanes and stuff anyway how would I go about wiring up a power Econ button if anyone knows
Blue [D] is overdrive like MX said, it's for when your doing over 80kms on the flat. I've heard that is you drive around in overdrive (under 80kms) you save fuel but end up ruining your diff. My dad's vp has this problem where the gear doesn't connect in and it "slips" he drove around in overdrive all the time for years...
