VR S2 Trans into VN S1 ???

Hi everyone, the old VN has been sitting around tool long now and its starting to annoy me what i am wondering is will a S2 VR tans work in my S1 VN ?, and also a side question is it worthwhile shiftkiting a trans without rebuilding it?

The VR went to the electronic auto which will require swapping to the VR loom and ECU to run it, not worth the hassle in my opinion
