I have a 1990 VN Commodore Sedan and it barely makes any noise and i want some grunt and noise. any ideas there? thanks
extractors and a 2.5inch cat back exhaust will get you lil bit more of a note..

thanks mate. any other tips or ideas to improve my vn?
depends on how much you wanna spend on it,, as mine sits right now its got CAI, 2.5inch exhaust an will soon have extractors,, if you do put a high flow cat on you may want to get a ressie as well cos it can be a lil loud in some cases an the ressie will take out the harshness...

Quick mods, remove your restrictor if its still there, and get a cai(if there made for vn/vp's)
replase the motor and gear box .... new motor should be a ls3 and a 6 speed gear box with a supercharger and mini spool..... the note will come with the ls3![]()
If noise is all your after, get the back muffler cut off and replaced with a 3 inch pipe. But dont expect the noise to be pleasant.
drrrrroooooooooooooooooooooooooonnnneeee
Replacing the rear muffler with a resonator/ "hotdog" might be a cheapish way to make a nicer note, otherwise, going up in price, would be a catback system, high flow cat (or none if that way inclined), then a good set of headers.
i did the same as what alex says on my old V6 back in the silly poor student days. i got compliments on the sound, even from mechanics
