Default Making snorkle for VN V6 Commodore.

I Have a few offroad Holden Commodores. One VN Sedan with full cage, One VN Ute with half cage. These are both used offroad and go throu bog holes and mud like most 4wds will never know. I am trying to make up a snorkle setup but have got a bit lost at this stage as to the best way to include an airfilter setup in it. Has anyone else ever built a VN- VS snorkle? Bit left field but really dont want to keep the inlet out the bonnet method i have at the moment on the ute. Not tidy enough to go on the sedan so need something much better.

    Looks like a ball!

Not that i have attempted it, but have you looked at setups like most factory 4wd snorkels? Usually they run from the bottom of the factory air box, out the side of the car then up the windscreen pillar. I guess you would have to seal up the bellmouth hole and take a hole saw to your front left guard...
    OR
Maybe you could seal up the bellmouth hole in the bottom of the airbox and then use some plumbing to make it draw air from the inside of the left hand guard? This way you would only have to drill the inside of the guard and it wouldnt show on the outside.
Wether it would be able to draw enough air at full throttle or not though...

I don't know, just bouncing some ideas around.

Good luck though! Looks like you will be having great fun regardless!

PS. What suspension mods have been done to make it sit on those wheels?

seal up the original hole in the air box then feed it out the left side throught the inner and outer guards then along the guards and up the a pillar use either exaust pipe or even pcv piping you'd want to keep it to about 75mm piping so it breathes well......and have the outlet facing backwards over the roof to not get rain water in it.
what size tyres you running on the sedan and have you lifted the suspension or cut the guards for them to fit?

Duct it straight back off the T/B and through the firewall, then across and up the inside of your left A pillar.
