Default for those with transmission problems...

hey guys, just thought i might post this up so hopefully it may be able to help someone else out. in the past few months my transmission has been slipping pretty bad (got even worse the past fortnight or so) and the torque converter lockup was not engaging at cruising speeds above 88km/h like its supposed to. i took it to a tranny specialist and they recommended getting a full flush and filter change performed, so i did, but that only seemed to make it worse. i checked the tranny fluid to make sure they didnt accidentally fill it up too high, but the level was just right. i took it back the next day and they recommended getting a second-hand transmission or getting this one rebuilt (which of course is alot of $$$). not wanting to hand over a bucket load of cash i started googling and came across this stuff called 'lucas transmission fix' and it had lots of good reviews from other forums like fords and nissans and toyotas etc. not being a true believer in additives i was sceptical but i went out and bought some for $19 from super cheap, went home and drained a bit of trans fluid (just pulled the speed sensor out and that drained a bit), then added this additive and i swear within a few hours of driving again the slipping had gotten sooooo much better (but not completely gone) and the torque converter lockup would sometimes but not always engage (better than it was before anyway). i then went and bought a trans oil cooler from repco. it was a PWR brand, size is 280mm x 255mm and cost me $117 trade price (think it retails for around the $140-$150 mark). after installing that i drained a bit more fluid out at the speed sensor and added a little bit more of the additive. that was yesterday and today it feels like a whole new transmission. i just wanted to share that so hopefully anyone who comes across this thread that have the same problems as i did can save some money on a costly rebuild. of course i may have just been extremely lucky that this all worked for me and im not gonna say that it will definately fix any transmission problems you might have but just saying that it worked magic for my car so i recommend getting the additive and a trans oil cooler. hope all that helps someone out cheers

One thing I found with these auto is to use correct Dextron III fluid. Do not use an alternative oil such as FUCH, as I've personally witnessed the results
