    Default cluster lighting

I have been asked by a few people how I did my blue lighting so I thought I should tell every one. Firstly I got new screens made by a guy called sam on ebay his shop is called speed graphics.
The advantage of doing it this way are you dont need to use blue LEDs mine are just the standard white globes. Because the colour is in the screen and you are using white light the red is visable as is the needles and thirdly the colour is even and the dimmer for the cluster light still works

Oh and I have to thank a mate of mine who made the carbon surround for me. It caused him much anger and has sworn never to do anything like it again

The dials look to have a dark spot - is that just the photo?

Give your mate a pat on the back from me - the fascia looks great

i got the same but i had 3 x blue leds in and had uneven light distrabution. so i got the speedgraphics ones and put back in clear T10 globes and still got uneven light. i may go brighter white leds behind there, problem with level 3 clusters is that they have only 3 light sockets where the level 1 & 2 have 4/

I once used white LEDs in my standard faced L3 cluster and it didn't light up bright enough. I also had white LEDs in my L2 cluster and it worked well due to having 1 more globe.

BTW, I like the 'Caprice' writing

He has a VP L3 cluster from memory with the modified switchblock to make it work correctly. (VP is the most complex L3 upgrade to do regarding Vn to VS)

The digital display is easy enough to wire in with the 4th plug. It's the rear demister and interior light delay that is the complex bit.

Cant remember what the l3 is out of I thought it was vn but once 88greenvn made the patch loom it was relatively easy and everything works great although I have ripped the chime out (IF YOU CANT SEE THE LIGHT ON THE DASH YOU SHOULDNT BE DRIVING)

Id suggest speaking 2 Greg (pheddy) man since hes over ur way. being brighter will only give u greater hot spots, Theres no "just replacement" LEDs that fit on the market and no matter how many LEDs that r grouped together where it b 3,5 or 6 LEDs u find on ebay in the 1 T10 sockets u'll always get uneven light, even with the types that have 4 globes in them, The LEDs veiwing angles r very poor this is y 4 the best result u need a custom full layout. Then u can even customise ur needles and have them different colours also.

easy just take the cluster out and disasemble so the clear screen can be removed there is a small aluminium cylinder that looks like a flasher unit it is just a push in with 2 pins so pull it out and reasemble cluster and put back in all warning lights still work but no more annoying beeping
