    Default ecu's - how do you check to make sure they are the right on for the job

    as my car had nearly done half a million k's and had 5 owners, just wanting to check the ecu is the right one for the car. I understand vp can go in to the vn's and run - ............

    have a vn v8 calais.......

    1227808 for all VNs and VPs (auto or manual, V6 or V8 - memcals differ of course but the ECU is the same). The VR manual ECUs (16183082 / 16206305) are also a direct plug in replacement.

    Look at the four letter code also on the ECU and/or memcal chip and compare it to this list to see what tune you have:
