Just wondering if i can put in a vr v6 engine into my vn s2 and will it bolt up to the vn trans? Is there any benifits of having a vr engine?
its a bit of a job mate, the tranny in a vr is electronic so i believe you may have to change to a vr transmission aswell and move all the wiring loom over aswell if you put the vr engine in. the vr engine had a few extra kilowatts but other than that theres not much benefit (not worth it in my opinion). your alot better off just swapping it for another s2 engine
hmm...maybe ill have to change it for a v8!
lol hell yeah definately worth it, though I believe you have to change a few suspension parts to convert to a v8 (but dont quote me, im not 100% on that)
if you drop in just the engine and leave the stock vn trans it will bolt straight up. i dropped a vp II v6 in my vn I and only things i needed to sort out was the differences in the radiator and cooling setup, the heater pipes the header plates and a few other bits and bobs. As for the vn II i don't know what the differences are to the vr engine but i would think not too much, the benefit is its not as crap of an engine to work on, especially if you need to change the thermostat, little more power, like a handful of kilowasps
