ok......been doing some reading - it seems maybe my 1990 vn v8 has no o2 sensor as they were tuned for leaded fuel........
this is a typical of comment's i have found......
"i've added the o2 sensor to the list of mods cause the NZ commies were tuned for leaded fuel"
i have after market exhaust on ...
should i put one in to get more fuel efficient or this is a waste of time...?????
You will need a tune that supports the oxygen sensor to make use of one I believe. The open loop tunes seem to be pretty good though so unless you're unhappy with it or planning on getting a tune for other reasons I don't think I'd bother.
makes sense dude........thanks
LOL, that quote looks familiar.
the leaded tunes seem to make good power, however economy can definitly be improved up on (as can power). mine, with basic tune, 3.45 gears and some other basic mods has done 7liters/100km's... driven hard it does 10ltrs/100km
if your keen then delcowizzid is the man to see for a tune here in NZ. he can do either with or without O2 sensor.

should do - you printed it.....ha.
my fuel flo and distance is out - where i live i have no accurate distance measurement on the road to tune in - so if thats not right i cannot calibrate my fuel flo,
just keep pouring gas in - i say........
Hey dude, yeah NZ VNs did not come with a oxy sensor and I have even seen a VP with no oxy. If you are in Christchurch I can hook you up with a tuned memcal, I got a chip burner and a tune to suit. I have chipped my series 1 v6 and added a oxy sensor to it, I cant tell you if the fuel economy is any better because I hoon around too much.
hey knobmuffin, is that offer open to anyone in chch? Im about to play around with twin throttle bodies and maybe rockers if funds permit so if your any good at tunin i might hit you up???
