    Default Grrr still missing after alot of amounts of money spent ...

    Hey all .. Got a 90 vn V6 S1 .. its still missing .. i have changed injectors, manifold and had heads redone, map sensor, coolant temp sensor, thermotaT, fuel reg, cat convertor, exhaust, coil packs and base, computer, O2 sensor. but from everything .. it started out as a miss in #6 and after i did the heads its now in #5 .. at the coil pack after changing 6 times including base it still seems weaker at #4 #5 and #6 more #4 then anything.. I have not yet changed the crank angle sensor, TPS or anything on the throttle body .. but i am also going through shit loads of fuel :S .. it just had its complete service .. so service parts are all brand new. Please help me .. i have 120 psi across the board .. i havent done it yet since the heads

    Also since the heads the water has been pressureing something shocking .. But im not losing water other then out the water bottle .. no oil in water and no water in oil .. im worried its a head gasket as no matter when i start it its blowing condencation .. and water is coming out .. not smelling like coolant .. so i am holding my hopes up ..cause its a shit jobs to do the heads or tho can you put the manifold gasket on wron .. it has the lugs and i am sure 100%they went of the same way they come off

    my falcon pressurises the header tank ! drives ok but has a miss and splutter and uses 1l every 1000klms.. defo 100% head gasket on mine but very common on 15yr old falcons ! the head gasket doesnt necessary mean its gonna mix oil and water ! it can leak pressure from tbe bore to water jacket and pressurise the bottle ! and when sitting, water leaks into the bore.... on falcons, the no6 cylinder looks like its been pressure cleaned when removed ! all shiny inside

    ps, the head gaskets also need to have clean surfaces to make sure the best contact is made...any weak point and thatsd where it will leak !

    ps, did you get the heads skimmed ? maybe warped ?

    i got a NF and the and the only time it blows is the NO6 :S .. But ur right its clean as hell .. lol .. heads are reco .. skimmed and cleaned new VSS and Valves so heads are great .. everything was cleaned .. or tho when i started it .. it blow a shit load of white smoke .. or tho i did spill all of oil over the top of the motor and some of it did go to downb the exh :S .. hence why i changed the exh system and cat .. but why would it stay the same ... or tho i just remembered everytime i change injectors .. or something to do with the fuel .. i lose the fuel smell out the exh till i drive it .. and amungst this .. i havent redone the computer either .. i know with some cars you have to shut the com down and retune it .. not 100% sure if this is one of those cars


    Thermostat brand new .. was put in after heads done correct computer .. i know auto and man and V6 and V8 are different .. but that was it .. do i need to look out for something .. CHip ??? what do u mean by that mate

    i have that same problem with the exhaust continually blowing steam right from start up and water sitting in the exhaust tip i can actually watch a stream of water coming out of it if the back end is lower then the front end of the car, i also have checked the water in the radiator bottle, no oil residue in it and it doesnt burble or anything its a pain in the ass not having a normal radiator cap, its like they went copied the ea falcons with the whole seperate water tank think instead of it just being a reservior. with your engine missing a heartbeat i also had that problem and weather its the same or not i do not know because i have not heard your car but everything is worth a try... behind the air box and underneath it sorta thing, i found a green wire and a black wire both unplugged just dangling in the wind and people told me not to put them together but one had a female end and the other a male end, i put them together being on my last legs hoping to fix my vn thinking i was going to cook the wiring loom but no it actually made my engine run like an italian supermodel compared to what it was, before that it was missing different pistons each time i started it and it was blowing smoke and each time i hit the accelerator even just slightly it either struggled to bring the revs up or it would just cough splutter and die. but its just a guess haha i could be wrong and it could have nothing to do with why your car is not running right.

    doubt they copied the ea as they were released the same year and holden soon after modified the design as it was a big pain in the arse compared to the later series 2 engines! example having to remove throttle body to change thermostat! i too have a series 1 berlina well my missus does and its never missed a beat in three years but im dreading the day it shits a thermostat

    hahaha now that u have said it it will probably happen, and speaking of ea falcons i was actually down the wreckers this morning checking out a donor vn for my weapon of mass destruction and there was actually an ea radiator bottle sitting in the boot of this series 2 vn haha, i picked it cause of the bubbly looking crap on top of the bottle...

    oh and also about them copying the ea... going back about 20-30 years now, what about when fords brought out one of their first fairmonts with a really long wheel base so holden went the extra step and just dragged out the boot on the statesmens instead of draggin out the wheel base... huh?? its all competitive crap to me they shouldnt be competing with eachother they should be original, have a look at the front end on 08-09 fairmonts and compare them with the 09-10 commodores, also the 2010 utes both ford and holden nearly the same body, again the 08-09 fairmonts sit one of them next a 06 commodore nearly the same design... they probably hire the same designer hahahahaha wouldnt surprise me, i know they dont look exactly the same but theres definateley a huge resemblance
