When you try to fire up the car again, does it wind? or just sit..and wont even crank?

Under you steering wheel, .. check the fuses down there.. One may have shit itself, and metled.. which could cause this issue.

If you can, also check the ECU for error codes to see if it logged any.

Failing that, I'd be checking your engine connections.. from battery to everywhere.

EDIT - when you turn the key ..Do you hear the fuel pump prime? If no, it's possible it may have died.. BUT, the engine would be cranking..
if it is dead, Im leaning on wires have burnt out somewhere

Ahhhhh... Almost guaranteed there's your prob lol.. I hear a lot of issues with "re-wired" immobilisers lol =)
Have a squiz around it, and check its wiring from Point A to B.

For you're headlights to still work, it's still getting power..Which is a bonus !
When the car stalled and didint wana move, what happened seconds before it died?
-Did the engine struggle, choke..back fire..make strange sounds ?
Or just flat out.. off no sounds nothing at all?

Total re-wire for the engine , or just imob?
For engine.. Id be guessing 500-800 tops
    For imob itself, 200-400.

But, when it comes to wiring IMO.. Its best not to take it a bogey place, bad wiring can lead to major injuries to you and others
To be safe, before you take it to the auto sparkies, check all your fuses and engine bay fuses.. you may find a fault within there?

If all fuses are ok, then I'd ring around a few places, see whos got a good price.. But, not to 'cheap' if you know what I mean lol

If it were the clutch stalled, it should still fire back up or at least crank ..
Buut.. no crank, may mean CAS (Crank angle sensor) common things to fail in vn-p-r-s at there age now

I'd be gettin your imob wiring looked at, sounds like it may have bumped itself, and come loose.. or just ironically it burnt out when the engine stalled lol

The CAS hides behind a big pulley called "Harmonic Balancer"
    It's closest to the ground

..not even sure if v8's have one ;p

This sounds more like you've blown an engine bay fuse, there's some heavy fuses next to the relay box under the bonnet on the drivers side. The biggest fuse is part of the fuse box, you need to undo the bolt holding it together before it will come out.
The lights can work with the most fuses out, they are on their own circuit for safety reasons.
Burnt wires usually mean you've had a major short (as opposed to a fire caused by fuel or wiring sitting on exhaust) any major short (enough to cook a wire) will be enough to cook the 20 amp fuse that runs the engine electrics, if the short gets to that circuit (melting wires touching other wires = welcome to shortsville)
You can sort this out mate, grab a 5 buck test light and get to work.
Start at the battery, connect the clip to battery earth and start checking both sides of the fuses in the engine bay. Lights up on the battery side should be 100%, lights up on the far side of the fuse from the battery will tell you if there's a problem.
Do a bit of testing and let us know what is going on and we'll try and sort you out.
Doing a rewire for this is like breaking a shoelace and getting a leg transplant. Post some photos and stuff.

Her's the fuse box and relays under bonnet.

sigh.................... bad information ----- v8's dont have a Crank angle sensor so dont bother looking for one. they have however a hall effect sensor inside the distributor.. if thats rooted get a new dizzy.,...

On the other note u say you have no power to the instrument cluster warning lights etc when u turn the key - suggest wiring problem or fuse fail

as warranty void has posted check the fusable links the ones in the 1st picture he has posted the little box in front first then the larger one behind it. use a voltmeter to test both sides of the fuse as they are hard to see sometimes.
