Hey guys, today I was pissing around with my engine a little bit, cleaning the engine bay and what not and now I have on my 3.8L V6 my pod is hooked up directly too the tb (besides the rubber arm) and it sits just above the exhaust manifold. Now I am wondering if because it is above the manifold that it will constantly suck in hot air and decrease performance?
Thanks in advance fellow commodores!
Yep - bad idea - if your out to get performance. Else it dont really matter.

Yeah I changed it back because of the air heat issue. Thanks anyway guys!
I've usually seen dudes going the "two hole mod' and a K&N panel filter rather than chucking a pod straight onto the intake pipe - if you are running a pod filter you will require a housing of sorts that will separate the pod from the hot air around the engine bay (if you are good with fiberglass it's a good start - some places do sell an ready to go aftermarket "housing" for you to mount into the spot your stock box is usually located and you just mount your pod into that... although the ones I've looked at are usually intended for V8's... Personally I have the over the radiator "bigmouth" SS Inductions CAI which works a treat.
