    Default VN Exhaust

G'day guys. Fairly New to this forum and have looked through a few of the threads, But cant find the question I want answered anywhere.

Anyway had my license just over a year now, Have done a bit to my car and my exhaust has a crack in it so thought I would get something with a bit of a bellow and a bit deeper cuase it needs to be fixed anyway.

I have been told by a mate that a 2.5 inch catback would be allright, But thought I would ask you boys who would have a much better clue as to what would sound good on a VN..

Feed back would be much appreciate.

    Cheers.

2 and a half inch cat back is usually the way to go.... It will give you a nice sound that isnt too loud or soft. Its always a reasonable price too.

You could always go that bit extra and try get a bit more power by getting a set of extractors and a high flow cat.

Thanks mate. Rang around does 320 or so sound about right for the catty?

How much do you reckon the extractors and high flow cut will set me back?

Looking more for fuel econmy and sound rather then speed etc.

if it's the V8 you can't go wrong really. however previous owner of mine chopped off the stock cat and middle muffler and just whacked a pipe on there. it echoes in the cabin quite bad resulting in ear ringing and head ache. I wouldn't recommend doing it like that, sounds awesome at 2000+ revs though. I plan on some nice extractors and going down to a coby, i imagine that not sounding bad.

Get a pre made system. I had the Lukey cat back, (2.5" I think) system with the standard looking mufflers (not straight thru flow) on my VN and it sounded OK, didn't drone inside the car.

Go with a 2.5 catback with no resonator on the back, she'll be loud. Extractors you could find cheap 2nd handies on ebay, new they are $350-450. Hi flow cat (lower number cpsi is higher flowing) around $200 and up on ebay for redback one (beware of chinese imitations, if it doesn't meet epa standards its a large $ fine). As for fuel economy if you get a sports exhaust you will lose allot.

Allright, Going to go with a redback, catback 2 and a half inch. I would ussaly get about 300 ks to a tank (On gas) So you wouldnt think it would drop down much from that?

Thanks for the feedback thou. cheers.

Depends on how you drive to be honest...... about the same consumption for "normal" driving would be my guess - maybe a little better but the difference would probably be negligible.
