when driving and put my foot down a litle bit it make this loud tinging sound and when i put my foot down more it gets faster and when my foots to the floor its gone, sounds like some things hiting againts the exhaust but i cant see anywhere it could be hiting
dont know if this helps but my missus's vn hit a pot hole one day pulling out of a driveway (bang underneath like bottoming out) and it started making the same sort of noise turned out it was the cat! it had bent up slightly and was vibrating as it was only just tapping the floor and it was pretty hard to spot as the cat only had a dent in it the size of a 50 cent coin! worth a look anyway![]()
il give that a cheack because that exactly where it sounds like its coming from, cheers for ur help,
oh and didnt start making the noise till a few days later so think back if you can remember anything hitting the underside of the car in that general area in the last week![]()
i just check then and its not thatand its been making that sound since i brought it so yehh lol. i have i felling its the drive shaft
could also possibly be the rear engine mount (gearbox) mechanic tried to tell me thats what it was and i took it to my mate and he found the prob straight away
i for got to add it only does it when its hot,
hmmmmmm dont sound like a rear engine mount then maybe something metal expanding and then shrinking
i just hav a feeling its the tail shaft hitting the exhaust wen it heats up because it expands, but i cant see any hitting marks
Wheres the noise coming from? I had a similar noise (tinging that went away with lots of revs) in mine and it ended up being the harmonic balancer
na its coming from underneath the car,
i found the noiseits a skrewed tailshaft, thanks for everyones help
hey im new to all this so sorry of i post this in the wrong place, i also have a prob with my vp, when sitting in aroud 40 k and then take my foot of the accelerator it makes a sort of light clicky clack sorta noise sorta sounds like a stuffed uni so i went searchin i dropped the tail shaft i replaced both unies the centre bearing was rooted so fitted a new one and also the constant velocity cv was showing signes of having better days so replaced it as well so everythin was all mew on the tailshaft also while i was going i had id ballenced , i since put it all back in an the noise is still there, now , it only does it when i let my foot of accelerator an it does not get worse or louder going faster its most noticable around 40 k mark, an does not make any unusual noises when accelerating can some one help me or have any ideas
