hey there,
does anyone know exactly how to fit VN/VP Calais wheel splats to a VN Wagon..
i just picked up a pair quite cheap and thought it might look good on the wagon so yeah,
pics on how to install would be awesome..
got pics?
vn calais didnt get spats(from memory)
vp calais did, theyre fairly tall and only cover the width of the guard
vq stateman also did, theyre fairly short and extend over the dogleg between the door and guard
either way, you need to make brackets to mount them.
they would be the vp calais ones, any examples of brackets from someone elses so i can copy... or something..

Im making brackets to mount trolley strips onto the vn sedan. Just made out of thick (not flimsy) galv steel which ive bent to fit the guard-lip-thing. Im in the process of painting them now give it a week and i should have them on the car. Pics if interested?
yeh sure, interested...![]()

that pic was allready up on the net, my pc wont let me upload more recent pics because its gay. Like i'd click the 'upload' button but nothing happens..
Anyways, yeah thats the basic idea of it. The tops of each bracket are folded over to sit flush with the arch lip on the car. Then they'll be riveted (or bolted) on. Painted white with touchup paint and the trolley strips sikaflex'ed on.
hope this helps![]()
sure does
cheers, also will the boys in blue measure from above or below the splat?...

hmm to that i do not know.. probably from below. just coz. but the chances of me scraping the spats on my driveway are minimal i think.. Just as long as they dont flex - so theres no chance of them hitting the wheels while travelling on the highway then they should be ok. BUT thats what my common sense dictates. The eyes of the law may dictate otherwise. I doubt it tho because they were stock on VP calais and VQs
