    Question Immobilizer problems....

hey guys my immobilizer is playing up. i went for a drive yesterday and it just killed the car at the end of my street. after getting towed home i investigated and found out the immob light isn't flashing?? so i disconnected the car battery and it still didn't come on. i am ok for this week as im using a work car but i really need mine back on the road asap. any ideas? i cant afford an auto lecky either but i have experience in electrics.....
    thanks, Phil

Just go for the zardi switch in the passenger door hinge area to override the immobiliser, if you don't have the key drill the rivets. No light flashing at all? is your central locking still working?

Your central locking isn't working at all? I'd be looking for a blown fuse first up.

yeah i did a little investigating, its the fuel pump.... i put a new fuse in and it blew when i tried to start the car, so i pulled the fuel pump relay out and tried again and it didnt blow. then i looked in the boot where the f/p wires go through the floor (correct me if im wrong... lol i dont have a gregory's manual) and the wires are a different colour to the ones leaving the relay. so all i have to do now is trace the wires all the way back and hope to find a short circuit there. if not im up for a new fuel pump i guess....

purple wire going into the tank is pump power pull it out the sender and use a multimeter to earth to see if the wire is shorted to earth most likely the pump is stuffed or unplug the oil pressure switch wiring and put a fuse in and see if it pops still may be a shorted switch
I tune the oldschool way fear on the passengers face and knuckle colour cant go wrong

Unplug the fuel pump and put the relay back in, if the fuse don't blow again then the problem is on the unplugged side of the wiring = fuel pump.

well its all sorted now, got the new pump in.... the sender wiring had stripped the insulation off and shorted out (inside the fuel tank) and the plug on the pump itself was melted away.... so im lucky the fuse blew lol. ill put pics up later... total cost: $122
