Hey just wanted to know who on here has done this coversion and has it made a difference. I got offered a vr motor and just trying to deside weather or not to do it.
Is your current engine a series 1 or 2?
if its a series 2, drops straight in.... all plugs connect etc (well except for the cam sensor on the vr engine but you can leave it unplugged)
If its a series 1, if i remember right you need to use the loom on the engine from the series one and put it on the vr engine.... and i think extend coolant temp sensor etc..... thats about it if i remember right (been about 2 years since i done it)
I've got the s2 vn, the only thing wrong with it is that its got burnt out valve's. I was just gonna change the heads but want to know if its worth changing the whole engine. If it make jack s*%t difference then i'll just do the heads.
It will drop straight in(I know because I done it recently)
do u think its better then the vn s2 engine?
much of a muchness really youde want to run a vr tune as the vn tunes arnt quite right for them but it will run ok
I tune the oldschool way fear on the passengers face and knuckle colour cant go wrong
tabbacco is still my favorite vegetable
Pretty much delco said...... same shit really.... I have a foam tune from ageeeeees ago and he said it will still work fine with the vr engine, but i might get him to do another one, onday :P
To me it feels nicer but thats because my old engine was on its last legs.
hmm...maybe ill just fix the heads on the vn engine.
I'd drop in the VR V6 engine, the last of the buicks and easily the smoothest running out of all of them. Plus it won't cost much more (if any more) to drop a good vr engine in the vn over fixing its heads
I wasnt gonna fix the vn heads i was just gonna put the vr heads on
Oh ok, my bad....I wouldn't bother if your engine is running smooth. Or I'd just swap the whole thing over while you're at it.
