transmission weird noise when selecting reverse

hey guys when selecting reverse in my car it makes a weird (ting and then a clunk) i think this is normal as it would be dissengageing th forward motion and selecting reverse. but i just thought i would ask to see if there might be something wrong

No idea but the tranny's are getting old in these cars.. Mine clunks when selecting foreward or reverse and sometimes it really CLUNKS

seems to work well afterwards so yeah

any chance are you on a bit of a hill when you change into reverse? if yes then its pretty normal but if it is on dead level ground and still does it then there may be something wrong, but as the last post said these trannies are getting old so dont worry too much about it lol

yea i am on a slight hill and it seems to run fine after but yea. thanks guys

This is normal, even from new they can clunk

some call it diff slap some call it uni slap is just movement in older parts
