    Default boot release on alarm

hey Ive had a uniden alarm in my car for ages, got it installed when i bought it. Just noticed that the remote has a boot release button. Was thinking I could wire it up to the boot release.

To do this I assume I can just tap into the wires going to the button in the glovebox and then connect to the alarm box thing? It makes sense in my head but thought id check

    Cheers

If all the cables coming from the alarm are black good luck finding the one for the boot release.

Anless the wire was left and marked its going to be pretty hard to do without a new loom for the alarm.

If you do find it, it will proberly be a switched earth. I ran that cable to my boot and taped into 12v, to the solenoid then to the switch earth of the alarm. But I done this cause i didnt have a boot release to start off with. Im sure you can tap in at the button in the glove box.

Is it normal for all the wires from the alarm to be black? I havent actually had a look at the box. Guess I could use a multimeter and see which wire livens up when i hit the boot release on the remote

For the one in my vn I had to run the alarm wire into a relay then from the relay I spliced into the wire going to the boot for the release

The wire coming from the immobilizer was negatative and the boot release operated with a positive signal so I used a relay to do that.
