Default vp commodore intermittent lights dim

While driving my vp the other night i noticed my headlights are dimming a little for about a second and and while idling the revs are dropping a little at the same time. This happens about every 10 seconds, there are no warning lights coming on so i don't think it is the alternator. also happens with the engine off and key turned to on.I can't for the life of me figure it out, any ideas?

Ive seen something similar before and tracked it down to the main power wire that goes from the positive battery terminal to the main 60A fusible link.Just below the fusible link holder is a little black plastic door that opens out, behind this theres a bolt that goes through the wire connector and the main fusible link.(the bolt also holds the main 60A fusible link in place). This wire connector was corroded and loose. To me, it looked like the battery moving around in the battery tray moved the wire enough over time to cause it to loosen and then corrode where it was crimped to the connector.I just rejoined the wire to a new connector and it has been all good since. It might not be what your problem is,but its definitely worth a look.Especially if the battery is a bit loose in its tray and there are no other obvious signs of anything wrong.

Well I doubt its going to be the problem then, but if the join is corroded at all,and theres high resistance there, it could cause it to happen with the car not running.Id still have a quick look anyway.
