Hi there, using the DYI process i finally extracted the error code 44 - (Air/fuel ratio lean. Caused when the air/fuel ratio is deemed lean for more than 20 seconds. Often caused by a faulty O2 sensor). I have a 1989 VN V6.

The car usually stalls just after filling up with gas and the engine lite always comes on after the engine has warmed up. Its more likely to stall completely when you're going up a hill. I am in NZ - no dual fuel - only petrol and also apparently NO O2 sensor fitted on these models.

I've cleaned the throttle body already - I gave the fuel press reg a bit of a squirt of CRC as well which helped a bit. Next step perhaps to entirely replace the press reg and perhaps fuel pump as well (the latter has never been done, the car's done about 370,000).

What sensor is actually reading this fault, where do i start? The vacuum system? This error code seems to imply that i need to do a sh*tload of work 2 find the fault! cheers!
