Default Major coolant leak behind drive plate

Hello folks, got a problem and need some advice. I have a nice stock series 1 VN V6 auto.

Its a hot day yesterday and the temperature gauge goes way up while the missus is using the car. She brings it home and I fill her up with tap water, thinking it will do for a few days until I can replace hoses and do it properly.
As I fill, I hear a little pop noise and then all the water pours out through the little hole in the flex plate where the engine meets the tranny. So I poke around, check hoses, jack it up etc and all I can tell is that the water is coming from behind the drive plate on the back of the engine. It's not from the inlet manifold or any hoses. I can't really see exactly where without pulling out the tranny and removing the drive plate.

My question is - does anyone know if there is a welsh plug or something back around the back of the motor that might have cracked? The water goes clear through if you fill it up, and comes out without any oil residue in it. Could I have cracked the block? I didn't think you could crack these old iron blocks.
    Thanks.

i had a coolent leak to and it came from the back of the valley cover there is a small plastic plug where a coolant line attatches onto it im not sure if its the same with the different series engines but its worth a look just go along the left side of the engine it will be a smaller pipe part costs like $14 from sprint and its fairly easy to fix not sure if this is the problem but i think its a fairly common in the vn and vp

Thanks for the replies. sawychri06 - I have had a real close look and the engine is dry until it gets down to where the tranny meets the engine, so the leak has to be lower down, plus I don't think the series 1 motors have that bit.
delcowizzid - Glad to hear there are some plugs back there - means there is still hope of a fairly easy fix. Just got to get to the bastard.
Tomorrow I will have to get started on dropping out the gearbox
