    Default Fuel Polsating

hey guys. having some trouble with my VP. its a 6. once i get down to in between 1/4 full and the red. the fuel flow starts the polsate like all hell. just wondering if this is what happens on all these cars or do i have to clean out my tank?
im just thinking its cause my dad had this car sitting in his driveway for 3 years not being run that its got shit clogging the fuel intake.

But thought id ask befor i went to the trouble

How do you know that it is the fuel 'pulsating' ? It could be electrical, fuel filter, air cleaner element etc. Suggest you get a mechanic to check the fuel flow and pressure if that's what you think it is. Might save yourself a lot of money - in the long run.

car runs fine when the fuel is above 1/4 full in the tank. its a new air filter.. just put it in on weds. its from the pick up cause it only really gets affected when i go round corners. i should of mentioned that in the first post sorry. so it seems the pickup is blocked or something like that.

if it does it round corners i'd bet it's the swirl pot in the tank either corroded, or the return line hose has broken off.

Has happened in two of my cars. I just replaced the tank, thats the easy fix
Hit me up with some reputation points if i've helped you out! (Star in the bottom left!) Cheers!

The fuel pressure is supposed to pulsate.Theres a pulsator on the fuel pump assembly in the fuel tank that makes it pulsate.

nah i think pulsate was the wrong word for what happends its more like fuel starvation. although couldn't think of that at the time. tank would most likely need a clean out. as i said the cars been sitting for 3 years at my dads joint.

Its most likely the swirl pot or return line to the tank then. When these stuff up it can cause starvation problems, especially on low fuel levels around corners.Ive read a few posts about it.
