brake lights not coming on until brake pedal almost to floor

so i parked my car in a carpark last night, and noticed there was a glass window which showed a nice reflection of the back of my car, so i checked my reverse globes, indicators and brake globes were all still working while i was there, and i noticed my brake lights didnt come on until my foot was almost to the floor. just wondering if theres a way to make them come on earlier, like as soon as i touch the brake pedal. cheers for any suggestions

Sounds like a problem with the brake light switch, it either needs adjusting closer to the pedal or replacing all together.

The brake light switch works when released, so the further out it is the earlier it will come on.

I just grinded mine back a tad it's only plastic.

You can unscrew it a bit, but to keep it secure I decided to grind mine back.
